Sister M. Hyacinthe Kaczor, CSFN Celebrates 75 years!

"In the second grade I dreamed of being a sister" writes

Sister M. Hyacinthe Kaczor. "My dad used to read the Lives of the Saints

and I concluded that all sisters are holy. "At Transfiguration Catholic Church,

I saw sisters marching down the steps and praying the Miserere and it

impressed me so much that again it was my desire to become a sister".

Finally influenced by Sister Illuminata, she became a Sister of the Holy Family

of Nazareth, entering the community at age 13 1/2

from St. Florian Parish in Hamtramck, MI. That was 75 years ago.

Among her many ministry experiences, Sister Hyacinthe, a teacher and

principal, served 11 years at St. Hyacinthe Parish in Dillonvale, OH and

20 years at St. Christopher Parish in Detroit, MI, where she lives today

in retirement while oing volunteer services.

"I am deeply grateful to Almighty God for the gift of my religious vocation,"

she says. "During these 75 years, I strove to spread the kingdom of God's love

to the numerous students whose lives I influenced, helping to lead them

to a closer relationship to God."
